Jeepers and Castiel are two cats who came into the APL with severe injuries. Jeepers was a stray who was fed by a Good Samaritan.
His eye became so severely infected that it ruptured and his caregiver bundled him up and brought him to the APL. Castiel was found on the side of the road by a gentleman on his way to work. The cat could not move and the Good Samaritan brought him to the APL, where it was determined that the poor kitty had broken his leg several weeks prior.
Both cats needed lots of medical care and had to go to a foster care volunteer’s home for TLC. One incredible Foster Care Volunteer took both the kitties. She worked tirelessly to administer medication and care for their needs.
As a result, Castiel is able to walk again and Jeepers has recovered some of the vision in his remaining eye. And more important, they became best buddies. When they came back to our shelter, we saw how bonded they were and insisted they go home together! And they did!
